About This Webinar:
The American Chemistry Council is the sponsor for two ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards. These two ANSI standards, Z400.1 (MSDS) and Z129.1 (Precautionary Labeling) have a long history of providing guidance to the chemical industry. The standards contain guidance on the classification of chemical hazards and how to inform users of those hazards with precautionary labeling and safety data sheets.
An effort to combine the standards was started in 2008. . . by the date of this event, the two will (should have) become one!
This webinar will review the details of the new combined standard, and the value that it adds to Hazard Communication efforts in the United States. There has been effort to move closer to GHS (Purple Book) as much as possible, without conflicting with the OSHA HazCom Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200).
