2026 Call for Mentees

Background: SCHC is continuing the mentoring program with a small group format.

What: Mentees for small group sessions are needed.

Who: Members who want to learn in one of the areas listed below.
• Professional Development (Leadership & Career mapping) (2 groups)
• SDS Authoring / software / resources (2 groups)
• Toxicology

How you can participate: Sign up to become a mentee! Fifteen to twenty-five positions are available for the 2026 sessions.

Mentee’s responsibilities: To ensure our volunteer mentors' time is maximized and you get the most out of this program, mentees must agree to the following:

  • Active Engagement (Cameras On): Be present and actively participate. To foster a true connection in a small group setting, mentees are strongly suggested to have their cameras turned on during all virtual sessions.
  • Be Proactive (Bring Examples): These sessions are mentee driven. You are expected to submit at least one specific question, challenge, or real-world example to your mentor at least 48 hours before each session. This prevents wasted time and ensures the discussion is tailored to your exact needs.
  • Preparation: Come prepared for every session. Complete any mentor-assigned reading, watch assigned videos, or review relevant materials beforehand so the group can dive straight into the discussion.
  • Commitment: Commit to the full 8-month program.
  • Attendance: Attend a minimum of four 30-to-45-minute sessions during the 2026 session with up to a maximum of 4 other mentees in your group (subject to scheduling availability).
  • Feedback: Provide ongoing feedback to help us continue improving the SCHC mentoring experience.

If interested or want more information about participating in the mentoring program for SCHC? Contact the committee chair – [email protected] and include the session you want to attend, your years of experience and time zone (to better match groups) before March 20th.
