Workshop Description and Objectives

This workshop is designed to advance the development and application of Hazard Communication leadership skills.  Team leaders are frequently tasked with assessing problems and opportunities, defining needs, and planning and implementing solutions.  Leaders are also often called upon to coach and mentor team members.  This workshop will focus on effective meetings, project planning and management, coaching and mentoring, and self-assessment. Good leaders are always in demand and this workshop through lecture, discussion and interactive exercises will help provide participants with the skills critical to optimizing their leadership effectiveness – specifically in Hazard Communication, but also in the broader context of Product Stewardship.

This is an advanced workshop.  While there are no formal prerequisites for this workshop, it is recommended that participants have participated in the SCHC Leadership and Teamwork for Hazard Communication seminar or be familiar with the basic principles of leadership theory.

Workshop Director / Instructor

Robert Skoglund, Ph.D., DABT, CIH Dr. Skoglund is the Director of Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs at Covestro LLC.  His responsibilities include product safety, compliance, stewardship, and sustainability for North America - including hazard communication.

Workshop Instructor

Mark S. Cohen Mark has 30 year of environmental, health and safety experience in the fields of hazard communication and chemical regulatory management.  Having held global responsibilities for industrial & institutional products, and consumer products, SDS systems and emergency services; Mark now provides hazard communication services for small and medium chemical manufacturers and distributors.
